Russian Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition will take place in Moscow between 29 January and 2 February 2020

Between 29 January and 2 February, White & Case LLC and Threefold Legal Advisors LLC are organising the 2020 Russian National Championship of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Students from 32 Russian universities will come to Moscow to participate in the Competition. Partners and lawyers from international law firms and major Russian companies, judges from international court and tribunals, as well as professors from leading Russian and foreign universities will be assessing students’ legal knowledge and oral skills.

This year problem addresses multi-fora international litigation, the accountability of heads of State for war crimes, killer robots, and a wall.

The Russian Final Round Judges are:

Peter van den Bossche, professor of international economic law at the University of Bern, former member of the Appellate Body of the WTO;

Antonios Tzanakopoulos, associate professor of public international law at the University of Oxford and fellow of St Anne's College;

Malgosia Fitzmaurice, professor of the law of treaties and international environmental law, and holds a chair of public international law at the Department of Law, Queen Mary University of London.

Preliminary and Advanced Rounds will take place at the Law Faculty of the Moscow State University between 30 January and 2 February (1 Leninskiye Gory, bldgs. 13-14).

The Final Round and the Award Ceremony will be hosted by the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) on 3 February 2018 (76 Prospekt Vernadskogo).
